What is a class like?
The Flykick Formula combines your favourite classes for an awesome workout, plain & simple. You can read up about our non-contact group exercise class here. But, basically, it’s a 50 minute fun & energizing workout, that anybody can do, in a lively music-driven & energy flooded room.
I’ve never boxed before, will I be able to keep up?
Yes, without a doubt. Our workouts are beginner friendly and designed to allow everyone to have a great time & get fit. In your very first class, you’ll be guided through the kickboxing technique and exercises. The instructors in all of our classes will ensure you'll have all the support you need to have a fun time!
Do I really need my own wraps?
Yes, wraps are mandatory in our classes. You can wear your own or pick up some from reception before your class for a small charge of £5.
What shoes should I wear?
None, you take Flykick classes barefoot, or if you don't feel comfortable then you can absolutely wear socks.
How old do you have to be?
To fly at Flykick, you’ll need to be 18 or older.
Can I take a class if I’m pregnant?
We have had clients who train right up to their final weeks, but that’s really a question for your doctor.
When should I arrive?
We recommend that first-timers arrive 20 minutes before class. There is a 7-minute pre-class induction that all first-timers must attend in order to join class. Missed it? We are more than happy to rebook you. Everyone should sign in no later than 5 minutes before a class begins; otherwise places will be released to walk-ins at the start of class.
BOOKING & MEMBERSHIPS
Do you offer monthly membership?
There are no membership fees at Flykick. We do not require any long-term commitment. Rather you can buy as many or as few classes as you’d like, from a single class to our multi-class packages. We aim to keep things simple and straightforward for all of our clients.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes. But it’s easy. Click here, type in your details and answer some simple questions. A waiver will need to be signed and an emergency contact will need to be set up, and the you’ll be ready to fly with us!
Can I cancel? Can’t make your class?
Gutted! Just make sure you cancel 12 hours before the class starts. Once your spot is cancelled, the class credit will be returned to your series to be used later. But be forewarned, if you don’t cancel 12 hours before or miss your class, your class will be charged to your series… and that’s a serious bummer.
When do classes become available to book?
Our classes become available 7 days ahead on a rolling basis. So, for example, if you look at our schedule on a Thursday at noon, you will only be able to register for classes through the following Thursday.
How does the waitlist work?
Sigh. Class is full and now you’re on the waitlist. As bags open up, we give them away to people on the waitlist in the order that they put themselves on.
When do my credits expire?
Use your classes whenever and however suits you, bringing friends, family, clients - and they get cheaper the more you buy. Check the terms and conditions of the package you are purchasing for the expiry period. We aim to offer ultimate flexibility, so they can be shared with friends and family, so long as they are not first-timers. You cannot redeem your classes for cash.
FACILITIES & AMENITIES
Are there changing rooms & lockers?
Flykick's changing rooms are spacious with complimentary lockers to store all of your possessions whilst you workout. Just set up your own locker code and go.
What about showers and towels?
We have everything you need to get back on the road after your class! Our showers, products and towels are ready to go as soon as you step out of the studio.
Are there Laundry facilities?
Once you’re done make sure your towels make it into the laundry baskets provided, and grab yourself a recycled plastic wet kit bag to get your gear home without any hassle.
Do I need to bring gloves?
Our Flykick gloves aren’t just beautiful, they’re functional! Each first-timer gets a pair to keep and use again & again. No need to share stinky gloves! Wraps are available for £5 if you don't have your own, these protect your hands and wrists.
What if I have forgotten something?
Let the team know if you have forgotten anything you need to get the most out of your workout and we can probably help out! Whether it’s a tee, towel or socks –just ask!
What are the benefits of kickboxing?
Kickboxing is more than a pure cardio event; it lets you release pent-up tension, improves your balance and strengthens your core. Thanks to the different muscle groups activated by your jabs and kicks, you’re also toning body parts that don’t usually get a workout when you run, walk or cycle. After multiple sessions, you will likely see improvements in muscle tone (without bulking), lower stress levels, enhanced cardiovascular endurance, improved coordination and self-confidence, core stability, bone, and ligament strength, lower body fat, and so much more. We also find it to be quite meditative.
Why should I choose kickboxing?
Because it’s fun and will deliver results. The back and forth between aerobic and anaerobic exercise means you’re training on an entirely new level. Even better, the boost in your metabolism ensure that you’ll be burning calories throughout class, and long after you leave. And, let’s not beat around the bush, it’s loads of fun to punch and kick!
