JULY’s Member of the Month:
Sophie has come in to FLYKICK, having never been 'sporty' and found her love of exercise in her sacred hour!
Quick Fire Q&A!
How did you hear about FLYKICK?
Through a one night stand … I probably owe her a drink?
Has it impacted your lifestyle/health in any way?
Beyond belief! I'm a regular at the early morning sessions - I find it helps me to both restore and set myself up for the day ahead. It's become my new daily coffee.
But it has also introduced me to the world of exercise more generally. I tend to travel a lot for work which means it can sometimes be a few weeks where I'm not able to make class. But I've since also been inspired to take up running, which means I can workout anywhere. And I've started packing my exercise mat so I can do my HIIT exercises and stretches in my hotel room wherever I am in the world!
What is your favorite part of the workout?
Has to be the one-minute finishing round: you think you've given it your all - then you find yourself able to dig further, channel your aggression and pelt it out for 60 more seconds. Bonus points for the rounds where we end with rolling punches
Did you learn anything about yourself throughout the time you've joined the #FlykickFam?
I've learnt how disciplined I can be. And that I'm not terrible at sports! All my life I grew up thinking that I was not interested or able to exercise…but that's just not true! I am really enjoying learning this about myself. And learning how strong I am.
I've also learnt what it means to be part of a wider sporting community - the Flykick Fam is so warm and inclusive...I'm really looking forward to joining their Wednesday running club when I'm back from my work trips!
What motivates you to want to work out?
Elia (if you've been to her class then you'll understand why).
Seriously though, Flykick is that sacred hour of the day where I get to concentrate on myself. I cherish the time to focus on my goals, clear my head and listen to what my body needs.

I don't really have one - but I'll go with this Ru Paul classic:
If you don't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love somebody else?
