December is the easiest month to let your fitness goals fall by the wayside. Everyone is starting to wind down for Christmas, we often feel tempted to let our workouts take a backseat to make time for social engagements and we're usually in a rush to get all of our work commitments tied up by the end of the year.


So you'd be completely forgiven if Flykick classes or fitness in general didn't make it to the top of your list of priorities this month. But here's the thing: we still think it should - and can.

Sometimes we just need that little push to remind ourselves that December is just like any other month, and we shouldn't let it overwhelm us. Carving out some solid time in the schedule to look after our mind and body will not only keep us on track, but it'll help everything else in our busy lives run more smoothly too.

Looking for the motivation to make it happen? We got you. You've heard of the 12 days of Christmas, right? Well we bring you the 12 kicks of Christmas - our December challenge. Has a nice little ring to it, doesn't it?

Here's how it works. Throw 12 consecutive kicks on the bag followed by 12 ground-to-overheads with a weight plate - as fast as you can with good form. That's all! Whoever completes the challenge in the fastest time by the end of the month is crowned the winner. The prize? 3 classes for first place, 1 class for the runner-up. Because it's Christmas and we're feeling generous.

The challenge is running throughout the entire month of December, and you can attempt it as many times as you like after any Flykick class that doesn't have another class running right after it. Unsure about the rules or exercises? Just ask a Flykick instructor or the front of house staff.
